Careers - Starting Out

We want to help all our employees to maximise their potential and achieve their goals. We provide our staff with a comprehensive support and training framework, that allows them to develop their careers according to their unique skills, talents and interests.
Our trainees can opt to study for a professional qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, and/ or the Chartered Institute of Taxation. We also have a number of staff studying for the Association of Accounting Technicians qualification, through our partnership with the Orkney College.

Suzanne Gray joined us as a graduate trainee in 2007 from a mid-tier firm based down in Perthshire. Here’s what Suzanne has to say about her time with us so far….

“Working at A J B Scholes has given me the chance to expand my knowledge and skills, by giving me the opportunity to take on more responsibility and more challenging jobs, whilst still providing support on the job and with studying when ever required.
